Charlie Thomas, 6 sting Guitar, 12-string guitar, bass, vocals


 Charlie Thomas has been playing guitar and singing since the age of 7, and put together his 1st band was at age 13. Charlie’s been playing professionally since the age of 19. He holds an AA in Music Composition from Montgomery College and has studied arranging with world renowned Bill Potts. Charlie also found time to rub elbows with the great jazz trumpeter Clark Terry when they both did a clinic in DC back in 1981. Charlie lends his expertise at rock clinics at local high schools in Montgomery County.

Charlie’s recording credits are long and distinguished and he’s a first call session player at many of the studios in Wash DC. At Omega studios in Rockville, Charlie is part of the beta test recording band hired to read music for big band charts being written by some of the best writers in DC. He’s also played rock guitar on many of his own private projects and has been featured on numerous records including some of the best-known Ethiopian artist’s recordings.

Charlie has played for every president since Ronald Reagan at many private gatherings as well as the inaugural balls and has been a featured combo guitarist at the Vice Presidential mansion. Charlie's credits also include several tours with the USO visiting Latin America and the Caribbean backing several performers.

On top of teaching and playing with Street Life, Charlie still finds time to freelance and club date with other bands in the DC area playing jazz, rock, blues, or pop. And if that isn’t enough, in ’93 Charlie Thomas started his own Blues/Rock trio called Skoolzout, playing night clubs and private affairs.   Charlie Thomas
